Background

D. Bahadur & Co. (a sole proprietorship) has been in the accounting profession for over fifteen  (15) years. We have been providing numerous accounting and financial services (including consultancy) to the public.

Providing auditing services to the public was added to our portfolio in the year 2012 when Mr. Drubahadur was granted a practicing license by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Guyana.

Mr. Drubahadur has achieved Fellowship and Membership, respectively with the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).

Prior to obtaining his license in 2012, Mr. Drubahadur was employed with W.W. Lynch & Co from the 2007 to April 1, 2012. W.W. Lynch & Co. was certified by ACCA as a Practicing Member prior to Mr. Drubahadur’s employment.

Mr. Drubahadur was employed as an Audit Manager and practiced under the direct supervision of Mr. Lynch (a practicing member of the ICAG for over fifteen years).

Organisation Structure

Our firm comprises of three departments (audit, tax and VAT) and maintains an average staff of twenty persons. Our firm has been registered by the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) as Practicing Employer.

The Assistant Principal, Ms. Haimwattie Drubahadur, has been a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants for over seven (7) years and she acquired a practicing license from the Institute of Certified Accountants of Guyana on February 10, 2013.

Ms. Drubahadur was previously employed by W.W. Lynch & Co. during the years 2007 to 2012 as Mr. Lynch’s assistant. During her employment Ms. Drubahadur gained experiences in the accounting and auditing professions.

In keeping with the technological requirements of today’s business entities our firm has been equipped with the following technologies:

  • High-speed Internet Access – This has contributed significantly in swift transfer of data and fast communication in relation to our client’s affairs.
  • Mobile computers – Our senior staff members are equipped with laptop computers to assist with offsite audits.
  • Mobile communication All our staff have mobile telephones to facilitate with communication with the office.

System Security

Information stored in our computers is secured (and encrypted) so as to prevent any unauthorized access.

 

ACCA Approved Employer status

Trainees studying towards the ACCA qualification can, subject to our approval, claim exemption from the performance objective component of their practical experience requirements (PER). They will only be required to use their My Experience record to provide details of their employment and to claim the performance objective exemption.

Trainees studying towards the CAT qualification can, subject to our approval, claim exemption from demonstrating the essentials and technical competences components of their foundations in practical experience requirements (FPER).
